Jule Styne, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green’s 'Two on the Aisle' exploded onto the Broadway stage at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in 1951, running for an astonishing 276 performances to completely dominate the mid-century variety scene. Completely discarding traditional narrative book templates, the high-octane musical comedy revue spectacular features an episodic parade of sophisticated sketches, media satires, and hot swing arrangements launched under precise blueprints, famously starring comedic giant Bert Lahr alongside Dolores Gray.
