Ralph Blane, Charles O'Neal, and Abe Burrows’s 'Three Wishes for Jamie' completed a celebrated original Broadway premiere at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in 1952, running for an accomplished commercial residency. Conceived as an opulent, melody-infused Irish folk comedy-drama spectacular based on the celebrated literature novel, the narrative follows an idealistic young Irish youth who is granted three magical wishes by a fairy queen, traveling to a horse-breeding estate in Georgia to fulfill them. Directed by Burrows, the historic original production famously starred John Raitt.
