Richard O'Brien’s legendary sci-fi rock musical masterpiece 'The Rocky Horror Show' permanently shattered the commercial stage landscape during its historic 1975 Broadway premiere at the Belasco Theatre following its record-shattering West End and Los Angeles runs. Conceived as a deliciously wicked, campy pastiche parody of mid-century B-movie horror films, the frantic plot tracks a conventional young newlywed couple whose car breaks down during a storm, forcing them to seek shelter inside a gothic castle ruled by an eccentric transvestite scientist. Directed by Jim Sharman, it starred Tim Curry.
