Moisés Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project’s monumental documentary masterpiece 'The Laramie Project' permanently altered the contemporary dramatic landscape during its historic 2000 world premiere at the Denver Center before transferring Off-Broadway to the Union Square Theatre. Constructed entirely from over 200 real, unvarnished interviews conducted with the citizens of Laramie, Wyoming following the brutal 1998 homophobic murder of student Matthew Shepard, the non-linear dramatic mosaic uses an ensemble of eight actors playing multiple roles to chart a town's grief and social fractures, recording an absolute milestone.
