This authentic vintage window card poster promotes the original 1961 Broadway production of The Devil's Advocate at the Billy Rose Theatre. Written, produced, and directed by Dore Schary, the dramatic play was adapted from Morris L.West's bestselling novel. The cast featured Leo Genn as Father Blaise Meredith, Sam Levene as Aldo Meyer, Edward Mulhare as Nicholas Black, Tonio Selwart as Bishop Aurelio, and Eduardo Ciannelli as Father Anselmo. The production's creative team included scenic design by Jo Mielziner and costume design by Theoni V. Aldredge. Printed on sturdy cardboard stock in the standard 14x22-inch display size, this original promotional poster was produced for storefront display to market the Broadway engagement. Tailored for vintage Broadway window card collectors, Dore Schary archivists, and 1960s theatrical ephemera enthusiasts, this rare piece captures a notable mid-century Broadway drama.
