Combining doo-wop, salsa, and traditional show tunes, the grand-scale musical biography chronicles the real life of Salvador Agron, a young Puerto Rican gang member in 1959 Manhattan who was convicted of a notorious double-homicide, tracing his long psychological evolution and literary redemption inside a federal prison. Directed by Mark Morris, the visually spectacular production starred Marc Anthony, Rubén Blades, and Ednita Nazario.
