Richard Greenberg’s 'The Babylon Line' arrived at Lincoln Center Theater’s Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater in 2016 as a lyrical, bittersweet exploration of artistic awakening and mid-century suburban stagnation. Set in 1967, the plot follows Aaron Port, a blocked Greenwich Village novelist who commutes to Levittown, Long Island to teach an adult education creative writing class, finding himself profoundly altered by an eccentric troupe of suburbanites, particularly a lonely, fiercely intelligent housewife. Directed by Terry Kinney, the production starred Josh Radnor, Elizabeth Reaser, and Maddie Corman, featuring watercolor illustrations by legendary artist James McMullan.
