Oscar Saul and Lou Lantz’s highly controversial children's theater musical spectacular 'The Revolt of the Beavers' completed a celebrated original Broadway premiere run at the Adelphi Theatre in 1937, running for an accomplished seasonal residency under the banner of the Federal Theatre Project. Conceived as a melody-infused fairytale political satire pastiche, the fast-paced plot tracks two ordinary children who travel to a magical forest kingdom to help working-class beavers orchestrate a labor strike to overthrow a tyrannical chief.
