Noël Coward’s sophisticated romantic drawing-room comedy 'Quadrille' completed a celebrated original Broadway premiere run at the Coronet Theatre in 1954 (and tracked into regional tours across North America in 1957), remaining a prized document of post-war British imports. The fast-paced, textually rich plot unfolds inside a luxurious Victorian railway hotel suite in 1873, tracking an independent English marchioness and a rugged American railroad tycoon who orchestrate an intricate series of tactical double-crosses to rescue their respective eloping spouses, falling into romance themselves. Staged by Alfred Lunt.
