Pygmalion (Roundabout)
Choose options
George Bernard Shaw’s classic drawing-room masterpiece 'Pygmalion' received a spectacular, multi-Tony Award-nominated Broadway revival at the American Airlines Theatre in 2007 under the auspices of the Roundabout Theatre Company. The textually electric corporate class-satire chronicles the phonetic transformation and social ascension of Eliza Doolittle, an independent Cockney flower girl who is hijacked by the arrogant, hyper-analytical linguist Professor Henry Higgins for a high-society bet. Directed with precise dramatic clarity by David Grindley, the production starred Claire Danes and Jefferson Mays.
