Based on the celebrated Mel Brooks cinematic comedy masterpiece film, the backstage musical comedy unfolds inside an NBC television studio corridor in 1954, tracking a young, naive sketch writer who is assigned to chaperone Alan Swann, a volatile, fading Hollywood movie icon who is drowning in alcoholism, during a live variety appearance. Directed by Ron Lagomarsino, it starred Lainie Kazan.
