Sherman Yellen, Jimmy McHugh, and Harold Adamson’s whimsical musical comedy 'Lucky in the Rain' brought a vibrant, champagne-flavored world premiere presentation to the stage of the historic Goodspeed Opera House. Conceived as a high-stepping pastiche entertainment using McHugh's multi-platinum jazz-age melodies, the fast-paced plot unfolds inside the bohemian arts scene of Paris, France in the 1920s, tracking a tight-knit circle of expatriate American writers, journalists, and strategic debutantes who navigate a hilarious minefield of romantic deceptions and shifting social networks. Directed by Christopher Ashley with explosive choreography, this regional flagship tracking records a significant musical discovery.
