Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s classic pop-rock musical 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' achieved its historic official New York theatrical premiere milestone during an acclaimed 1976 production at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The whimsical, entirely through-sung biblical pastiche narrative tracks Joseph, a young dreamer whose preferred multi-colored coat triggers a vicious, cold-blooded campaign of jealousy from his eleven brothers, who sell him into Egyptian slavery, where he rises to become vizier through dream analysis.
