Producer Alexander H. Cohen attempted a high-profile revival of Olsen and Johnson's legendary slapstick musical revue Hellzapoppin during the 1976–1977 pre-Broadway season. Starring screen icon Jerry Lewis alongside Lynn Redgrave, the ambitious production featured a score with songs by Jule Styne and Cy Coleman. Though slated for a February 1977 Broadway premiere at the Winter Garden Theatre, Cohen ultimately closed the show during its out-of-town tryout in Boston. James McMullan's vibrant key art was commissioned for the production, creating a rare and celebrated poster print for one of Broadway's most famous "lost" revivals.
