This authentic, linen-backed, large-format three-sheet poster promotes the 1958 original Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song at the St. James Theatre. Directed by Gene Kelly and choreographed by Carol Haney, the hit musical featured music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and a book by Hammerstein and Joseph Fields based on C.Y. Lee's novel. Starring Miyoshi Umeki, Pat Suzuki, Larry Blyden, Juanita Hall, Keye Luke, and Ed Kenney, this oversized vintage artifact documents the landmark Golden Age production set in San Francisco's Chinatown. Tailored for theater historians, Rodgers and Hammerstein collectors, and performing arts ephemera enthusiasts, this display piece captures a key moment in Broadway history.
