Sherie Rene Scott, Dick Gallagher, and Michael Hoyle’s 'Everyday Rapture' arrived at the American Airlines Theatre in 2010 under the auspices of the Roundabout Theatre Company, earning a well-deserved Tony Award nomination for Best Musical. Conceived as a highly stylized, heart-filled, and meta-theatrical autobiographical musical comedy, the narrative tracks a young Mennonite girl from Topeka, Kansas who possesses a massive vocal belt and an obsessive preoccupation with pop culture, charting her turbulent spiritual journey through Manhattan to break free from religious conformity and discover Broadway stardom. Directed by Michael Mayer, the production starred Scott and Lindsay Mendez.
