Matthew Sklar, Chad Beguelin, Thomas Meehan, and Bob Martin’s 'Elf: The Musical' arrived at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in 2010, running for a triumphant, record-breaking seasonal holiday engagement. Based on the beloved 2003 cinematic masterpiece, the whimsical, hyper-kinetic musical comedy follows Buddy, a towering human orphan who is raised by Santa's elves at the North Pole, who embarks on a journey to Manhattan to locate his workaholic, non-believing biological father, completely transforming a cynical New York corporate landscape through cheer. Directed by Philip Wm. McKinley with choreography by Warren Carlyle, the production starred Sebastian Arcelus and Amy Spanger.
