Bert V. Royal’s blisteringly funny, pitch-black dark comedy 'Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead' arrived Off-Broadway at the Century Center for the Performing Arts in 2005. Conceived as an unauthorized, razor-sharp parody of Charles Schulz’s classic *Peanuts* comic strip, the narrative reimagines the beloved cartoon ensemble as a group of deeply troubled, anxious high school teenagers who are grappling with systemic bullying, drug abuse, emerging sexualities, and existential dread following the painful death of their iconic beagle. Directed by Trip Cullman, the tour-de-force ensemble cast featured Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eliza Dushku, Logan Marshall-Green, and Kelli Garner, capturing a modern counter-cultural cult phenomenon.
