Rose Franken’s heartwarming contemporary drawing-room comedy-drama masterpiece 'Claudia' completed a celebrated original Broadway premiere run at the Booth Theatre in 1941 (and tracked into extensive national touring company flags in 1943), running for an astonishing 722 performances under the banner of John Golden. The textually rich naturalistic narrative follows Claudia, a whimsical, overly attached young bride whose comfortable suburban lifestyle and marriage enter a bittersweet maturity crisis over a weekend, directed by Franken herself.
