Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman’s 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' brought a lavish, grand-scale musical comedy spectacular from London's West End to the Hilton Theatre in 2005, capturing the imaginations of family audiences and featuring a real-life flying car on stage. Featuring a book by Jeremy Sams adapting the classic film and Ian Fleming novel, the narrative follows Caractacus Potts, an eccentric inventor who restores an old racing car that possesses magical flight capabilities, embarking on a rescue mission to the child-hating kingdom of Vulgaria. Directed by Adrian Noble, the high-spectacle original Broadway production starred Raul Esparza, Erin Dilly, Philip Bosco, and Marc Kudisch.
