Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, and Terrence McNally’s 'Catch Me If You Can' arrived at the Neil Simon Theatre in 2011 as a high-octane, retro-styled musical comedy extravaganza that turned the entire stage into a flashing 1960s television variety spectacular. Based on the celebrated Steven Spielberg film and autobiography, the fast-paced narrative charts the real life of Frank Abagnale Jr., a brilliant teenage con artist who successfully passes himself off as a Pan Am pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer while forging millions in checks, pursued relentlessly by a deadpan FBI agent. Directed by Jack O'Brien with choreography by Jerry Mitchell, the production starred Aaron Tveit in a star-making lead turn alongside Norbert Leo Butz.
