Burton Lane and Alan Jay Lerner’s charming 1979 musical romance 'Carmelina' opened at the St. James Theatre based on the classic cinematic comedy Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell. The plot follows a beautiful Italian woman who has successfully raised her daughter by secretly convincing three separate American WWII veteran soldiers that they are each the child's father, collapsing into frantic panic when all three men unexpectedly return to the village for a reunion. Directed by José Ferrer, the production starred Georgia Brown and Paul Sorvino.
