The 15th annual edition of the fundraising phenomenon, titled 'Broadway Bares XV: Comic Strip,' brought a hilariously naughty, hyper-kinetic burlesque parody of classic comic books, graphic novels, and Sunday cartoons to the Roseland Ballroom. Conceived by Jerry Mitchell to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the high-octane revue completely transfigured traditional performance templates. Over 200 of Broadway's elite ensemble dancers executed synchronized choreography inside a pop-art landscape, turning iconic superheroes and pulp villains into a series of celebratory dance numbers.
