Big River (Revival)

Jeff Calhoun’s groundbreaking 2003 Broadway revival of Roger Miller’s 'Big River' completely transfigured the theatrical landscape, staging an extraordinary collaboration between Deaf West Theatre and the Roundabout Theatre Company at the American Airlines Theatre. This visually spectacular production seamlessly combined hearing and deaf performers, utilizing American Sign Language embedded directly into the choreography while actors simultaneously spoke and sang the lines. The critically adored, Tony-honored production tracks Huckleberry Finn’s journey down the Mississippi River, starring Tyrone Giordano as Huck with vocal reinforcement by Daniel Jenkins alongside Michael McElroy as Jim.
