Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black, and Charles Hart’s 'Aspects of Love' brought a highly sophisticated, entirely through-composed chamber opera of romantic fluidities to the Broadhurst Theatre in 1990. Based on the 1955 novella by David Garnett, the sweeping narrative spans seventeen years across France and Italy, tracing the intricate, overlapping, and generational romantic entanglements involving a young English soldier, a volatile French actress, a wealthy bohemian baronet, and his artistic Italian mistress. Directed by Trevor Nunn, the visually lush production introduced the international hit standard "Love Changes Everything," starring Michael Ball repeating his acclaimed West End performance alongside Ann Crumb and Kevin Colson.
