Sale price$500.00
Quantity:

Hand signed in pencil by Al Hirschfeld at upper right and in black ink by Tovah Feldshuh at lower right. Offset print of Hirschfeld’s New York Times drawing with the printed caption “Tovah Feldshuh in ‘Sarava’” below the image; unnumbered. Sheet approx. 10 x 8.25 in. Feldshuh, in full dance pose, as Flor in the Mitch Leigh / N. Richard Nash musical adapted from Jorge Amado’s Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands, which opened at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in February 1979 and earned her a Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. The show is remembered for its producers’ refusal to hold an official press opening, running months of previews on TV advertising until critics bought tickets and reviewed it anyway.
