Frank Lazarus and Dick Vosburgh’s hilarious musical comedy revue 'A Day in Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine' arrived at the John Golden Theatre in 1980, running for an astonishing 739 performances and sweeping multiple major Tony Awards. Conceived as a brilliant double-bill pastiche masterclass, the fast-paced show features a glamorous 1930s Hollywood usher variety showcase followed by a blisteringly funny, melody-infused Marx Brothers farcical lampoon of Anton Chekhov’s The Bear, directed by Tommy Tune.
